PostDoc Positions: We encourage motivated PhD students in their final stage to apply for a fellowship in our group. Besides internal funding, we will assist in their application for an external grant. This includes

Several projects in our fields of research are available, depending on the candidate’s profile. This include

  • Coherent manipulation of atomic, nuclear and molecular spins on surfaces
  • Developing new quantum sensors based on single atoms and molecules
  • Setting up and start of operation of a dilution refrigerator STM

Successful candidates are expected to integrate a small research team, collaborating with PhD and Master students. There is no mandatory teaching requirement.

PhD Positions: We are looking for motivated PhD candidates

During their training, the PhD candidates will gain practical experience in STM and STS techniques, coherent manipulation of atomic spin centers, UHV and low-temperature experiments including compact dilution refrigerators as well as high frequency (RF) electronics. Our lab has started to grow giving the candidates a unique opportunity for setting up instrumentation in a thriving and growing environment. Several areas of research are possible:

  • Coherent manipulation of atomic, nuclear and molecular spins on surfaces
  • Developing new quantum sensors based on single atoms and molecules
  • Setting up and start of operation of a dilution refrigerator STM

Master thesis: We are looking for motivated students that want to perform their master thesis project in our group. The project can be individually defined. In all cases it will involve to assist in setting up a new cutting edge scanning tunneling microscope system and performing measurements on single magnetic atoms and molecules on surfaces.
