How to move an atom

A key ingredient of our research is to move single atoms. Here I demonstrate this process in my former lab at the Center for Quantum Nanoscience

Detecting Single Atom Nuclear Spins

In collaboration with IBM and the Center for Quantum Nanoscience we were able to detect the signature of single atoms. In order to do this, we utilized the hyperfine interaction, the coupling between the electron and nuclear spin. The video below demonstrates nicely how we achieved this.
